TOP UK, CARRIBEAN AND AFRICAN ARTISTS CONVERGE FOR HAITI RELIEF SONG

The disaster in Haiti, although overshadowed here in the United Kingdom by the appearance of Tony Blair on the Iraq enquiry and the much publicized case of England’s’ Football captain John Terry, is still a real and going concern. We should not and must not lose sight of the humanitarian situation which still continues to exist. Families are still homeless, hungry, missing, wounded and depressed, to say the least.

In a response to this, some of the Best Gospel artistes in the United Kingdom, the Caribbean, and Africa have come together to record a song to raise funds for the people of Haiti and further reiterate in the minds of the people and governments the need for continued assistance of the people of Haiti. The song is titled ‘One Love’ and it is considered a fantastic piece with a message that needs no explanation.

A number of sources have compared it with the Kirk Franklin and Simon Cowell versions in terms of lyrical content and dexterity of voices. It was agreed that this is a better and more appropriate version that says the right words without necessarily portraying the Haiti people as beggars.

The idea for this initiative was conceived and music produced by the veteran music producer Mr Shabach Stephen Akinleye (Beautiful Soundz), and supported by Set HIM Off Music Ministry UK (SHOM). Shabach produced the fantastic song and allowed room for creativity by the various artistes invited to fully stress on the present need of the people of Haiti.
